Those Years

Those Years

A Poem by unclecharlie

Some people we will never understand

But to them we still reach out our hand

It's not for them that we feel we should

But more to show a child that life really can be good

Giving them what else where they rarely see

And that  part of our life they can easily be

Making them comfortable and completely secure

Letting them have those years that are innocent and pure

Having conversations so they know that we care

Talking about school and what they  learned there

Taking them on a some short amusing trip

Or down to the lake fishing and take dip

It's not about the words that are said

But our action that stick in their head

We may not be rich or even have very much

Yet the Love between us no one can touch

And as they smile and our eyes gently meet

That my friend is a feeling nothing else can beat!
