A new adventure

A new adventure

A Poem by unclecharlie

We looked out the door cloudy with rain

His next words sounded insane

Dad can I have the key to the bike

I want to out on a little 2 hour hike

Son you are a grown man

Riding the bike you always can

But do you really want to wet and chilled

When on you a lake could be spilled

He smiled and pulled out his nice new jacket

Saying, Dad don't worry I can  surely hack it

Well I gave him some chaps and there gps on his phone

So no matter what he wasn't alone

He returned saying all had worked out really well

He had an adventure and new story to tell

What he did was no different then our pioneers

Except he had a faster horse and 4 extra gears

He told me of some of the peoples odd looks

When he sat waiting out the rain reading his book

On this bike he just seemed to glide

Not caring about the weather outside

Now bikes we've both had a few

Always old nothing brand new

The name and the size haven't meant a whole lot

It's all about something to ride we've always got

So don't feel bad about when we ride in the cold or the rain

For us it's the experience and memory that we want to gain!
