The Reflection

The Reflection

A Poem by unclecharlie

On the water a reflection she'd cast

The face of a man from days long past

It seemed he had no morals or soul

She remember the look in his eyes as he took control

He had a straight forward talk and plenty of charm

As he assured her that she could come to no harm

He lived by rules that were only his own

Wanting only for others to leave him alone

Life to him was all about her

And a love that could only be pure

Around her he built a thin shield

Comfort in her was easy to build

His way of life many just couldn't see

A little wild and 100% free

These Lovers for years would never part

It was two as one right from the start

Others seemed to laugh and ridicule

But to follow our heart is one hell of a rule

Watching today as they still walk down the street

Reminds me of the day you and I would meet

Even though the time has been some what short

In our adventure there's plenty to report

And every day there's a smile on my face

I've got a great woman and in life found my place

I dare anyone else won't you please  try

Just for a minute match the twinkle in my eye

All this is not easy or cheap

It's all about the Love we'll always keep!
