Perfectly Clear

Perfectly Clear

A Poem by unclecharlie

Nothing is going to matter much today

Really don't care what anyone else has to say

Going to forget about the usual life

Take it easy spend some time with the wife

Going to find the fire that once burned

When we  were young reality we hadn't  yet learned

Lived every day as if it was the last

There was nothing we couldn't past

Back when kisses were long and deep

And as one being  we'd always sleep

Waking up to new adventures each day

Had to learn everything in our own way

To some it may seem that we've grown apart

But believe me darling you still have heart

And my promise still stands very true

As long as I live it's just me and you

I just want to make this all very clear

Love you always even if the words you don't hear!

True love last longer than youthful passion
long lasting bonds are what you fashion.
If you are wise enough to know
it is the little things that show
your partner how much you care
it is never too late to dare
To tell her that your love is true
but sadly husbands seldom do

I like this line .. 'Take it easy spend some time with the wife' The whole poem is a gentle observation of how life takes the edge off love, but how love matures into something different. The beauty, for me, is in how you capture the subtle shift and the positive nature of the poem in affirming it.
