The Thrill of the Chase

The Thrill of the Chase

A Poem by unclecharlie

A woman that I may never get
Still she looks good from where I sit
The dress that fits her just right
Makes for pleasant dreams each night
That beautiful smile on her face
Nothing better then the thrill of the chase
It's not about sex or any physical thing
But the smile on face only she can bring
Even though we have never met
I refuse to give up just yet
Seeing her in the strangest places
She's always surronded by many faces
Off in the distance I may be
But in the crowded bar it's only her I can see
Across the floor she seems to gluide
To talk to her I haven't even tried
In the mirror myself I couch
Wondering if this woman I could approach
Then if I found something to say
Would she even give me the time of day
I am out of practice and I have no line
How could I deserve a woman so fine
What could I have to give
But trust, honesty and a friend as long as she'd live
Maybe I am just thinking to big
She's probably way out of my league
No matter what she puts a smile on my face
And I stay young with the thrill of the chase!
