A Gentle Trip

A Gentle Trip

A Poem by unclecharlie

In a trance we can slip away,

Go on our own trip just for today,

Simply close your eyes and then report,

Through our imagination we will then sort,

Looking for that one beautiful spot,

Where all you desire they've already got,

Everyone is comfy nothing to fear,

Things are all fresh and crystal clear,

It could be Paris where lover's carry on,

Or boat ride down the Amazon,

But before we knew it someone would speak,

The connection with the trip will slowly get weak,

With the next words to be said,

Our trip is over the connection is dead,

Eyes opening just the slightest bit,

Back into reality now we must get,

The trip today may have been short,

Yet another time we will close our eyes lean back and report!

I love the thought of daydreaming being a 'gentle trip'. That's really beautiful. Your poem took me into that trip to the point where someone speaking seemed almost as irritating as if it were my own daydream. Nice work.
