I used to live wild and free,
There was so much I wanted to see,
I would stop here and there,
What came next I didn't care,
But real life I didn't know,
I see that now as I grow,
I have seen life from many point,
Drank some beer smoked some joints,
I traveled with a picture in mind,
Of the life I hoped to find,
What I wanted no one else could bring,
I didn't know how to feel a single thing,
As the days passed on by,
I often stopped to wonder why,
Nothing at all seemed to fit,
And what I wanted I couldn't get,
Now as I am getting old,
What stopped me was a heart so cold,
It wasn't at all that I missed,
But more that my heart could only resist,
At this I am not the only one,
Please don't do what I have done,
Take some time to lend a hand,
Talk to others and understand,
The more you give- the more you get,
There's a place where you will fit,
Get rid of the heart so cold,
Don't be alone as you grow old!
