No TV

No TV

A Poem by unclecharlie

I no longer watch TV,
There is nothing there interesting to me,
The News only makes me sad,
Nothing good it's all bad,
The sitcoms come and go,
There all basically the same don't you know,
The movies are done in short scenes,
Commercials is what they all really mean,
What ever happened to MR. Ed,
Is he alive or is he dead?
What about Wally and the Beave?
Once I thought they'd never leave,
150 channels but no place to go,
Just can't sit through a single show,
If you can find a show you adore,
Next thing you know they don't show it any more,
Then there are the movies for rent,
Watch all night and how much have you spent?
On a computer I work my mind,
You'd be surprised how many friends I find,
I can visit other countries to,
Just to find what it is they do,
A social life that is almost nil,
So here I type what I think and feel,
To some silly this may be,
But it sure relaxing for me!
