Across The Room

Across The Room

A Poem by unclecharlie

Across the room their eyes would meet,
The smiles were a silent greet,
Nothing at all was said,
Just a simple nod of the head,
He got up and walked real slow,
Approaching a woman he didn't know,
Together they had a drink,
This is odd they both would think,
Then they ordered dinner and wine,
And the evening went just fine,
Then they parted at the door,
Never to see each other any more,
Her picture was locked in his mind,
For years her he'd try to find,
Now on his bed of death,
Not much time was there left,
The nurse walked before his eyes,
Oh My God what a surprise,
The woman that he'd never caught,
IN his last hours God had brought,
He told her all he had waited so long to say,
Then he gently passed away!

So sweet. God does some unbelievable things sometimes and this is something he would do. Lovely.
