At Her Window

At Her Window

A Poem by unclecharlie

To her window he has to shout,
Her father won't let her out,
She goes to school during the day,
But at night inside she must stay,
No one can knock on the door,
It's not answered any more,
Please just leave her alone,
She's not allowed to use the phone,
If she wants to date,
Til she's 21 she must wait,
She can't watch TV,
There is to much violence that she will see,
From the house he can't see light,
The curtains are pulled real tight,
No one at all did she warn,
But hung herself one early morn,
That no one could explain,
Nor did anyone have something to gain,
Dad quickly moved away,
She was abused they would later say,
Life really sucks when all that's left,
Is a quick and easy death.
