This wasn't dinner or lunch,
But instead a Sunday brunch,
The waitress brought us coffee and a plate,
Told us there was no need to wait,
My date asked for a menu,
The waitress pointed and said just walk on through,
She said it was all you could eat,
And that the choices could not be beat,
So we walked slow to have a look,
Samples is what we took,
After all the things we tried,
We just pushed the plates aside,
Then we just had a talk,
Deciding we could both us a walk,
We went to the first spot we could reach,
And of course it was the beach,
We walks quite a spell,
Each with our own story to tell,
About loves from the past,
And the reasons that they didn't last,
About wanting so much more,
Then what we'd had before,
That now we took everything slow,
Because first the other we must know,
The water on our bare feet,
Turned out to be a treat,
We stopped and looked into each others eyes,
Next I was wet and surprised,
I thought I'd give her a kiss,
She pushed me in the water so that I'd miss,
But she hadn't thought,
That by the arm she'd be caught,
But she didn't seem to fret,
We we're laughing soaking wet,
Her dress now fit her like a glove,
Her body was enough to fall in Love,
Away from me she couldn't stay,
In the water she continued to play,
We walked down the beach soaked to the bone,
Looking around and we we're all alone,
I was trying to figure out how to get us dry,
When she pulled me close and began to cry,
I told her I was sorry if she was hurt,
She told me to hush and buried her face in my shirt,
She wiped her tears away,
Leaving me not sure what to say,
She said everything was just fine,
She was having the best of time,
The tears Happiness had brought,
More fun she could have never got,
Maybe for her it was a little fear,
It all didn't seem to clear,
She said it all felt better then it should,
She was scared of things this good,
I took her back to her car,
She told me I was the best by far,
She said a keeper you could be,
I hope that you'll come back to me,
She held me close again,
Saying today that we both did win!
