Blind Date # 17

Blind Date # 17

A Poem by unclecharlie

It started out just like they all did,
When I was a high school kid,
We got in the car didn't know what to say,
She smiled and giggled as we drove away,
She search for some music on the radio,
We sang along with the songs we'd know,
Missing words here and there,
But neither of us seemed to care,
Out the window she started to point,
So we ate at a burger joint,
We shared a Malt before we were through,
As we tried to decide what next to do,
Then we went to the main street,
And drove laps around the beat,
To be with her I was so proud,
We even turned the radio up real loud,
I took her home and pulled in the drive,
That's where she really came alive,
She turned the radio down real low,
And then kissed me nice and slow,
I really didn't feel any older,
As she moved close and put her head on my shoulder,
Out the windows you could not see,
I felt so young and free,
She finally decided she needed to go,
It was time for our real age to show,
So I walked her to the door,
And Kissed her just once more,
I hope that we have another date,
This sure was a nice twist if fate!
