Blind Date # 3

Blind Date # 3

A Poem by unclecharlie

Got to her house and knocked on the door,
No idea what was in store,
It opened just a crack,
I saw 2 eyes looking back,
They didn't care about my name,
It was instead the question and answer game,
Where will you go and what will you do,
And how long has she known you,
We're not sure if you'll kidnap or kill,
Her safety is a big deal,
What kind of car do you drive,
And will you go over 55,
Does she need money or will you pay,
Speak up don't you have anything to say,
I asked if they could open the door,
Then maybe we could talk some more,
The door was shut slow and smooth,
I heard the chain lock move,
The door opened and to my surprise,
There was only a 3 foot body under those brown eyes,
I asked her where was my date,
She said Mommy's in the shower you'll have to wait,
On the couch I took a seat,
She brought me cookies and we began to eat,
On the TV was a Disney show,
One I hadn't seen so no way I could go,
The sitter came walking in,
Mom showed up the date should begin,
The movie had me and the child in a trance,
Away from the TV I couldn't glance,
The child begged us not to go,
I told her I couldn't leave til after the show,
The child looked up and smiled at me,
Mom said there was no date for me,
Then her face turned beet red,
Get out of my house was all she said,
Another date down the drain,
There's no question I must be insane!
