Blind Date # 2

Blind Date # 2

A Poem by unclecharlie

I took her out and hadn't known her for long,
Just my luck- her father had to come along,
He sat a few tables away,
But listened to every word we had to say,
A couple of times his voice rang in,
Saying relax boy tonight you won't win,
We ordered a dink I lit a smoke,
Her face got green I thought she'd choke,
But before I knew it she lit a cigar,
And her Dad moved away real far,
We got up to slow dance,
Someone tapped my shoulder and at her father I did glance,
I was confused but stepped aside,
The way he held her I almost died,
As I set at the table alone,
I heard a sound and it was her phone,
I surely wondered who was there,
But to answer it I didn't dare,
Next I watched as her mother came through the door,
That was to much I couldn't take any more,
They all seemed in a trance,
As together they all danced,
I got my jacket and slipped away,
That's how it ended what more can I say!
