Friends

Friends

A Poem by unclecharlie

For this weekend we may be unprepared,
Maybe even a little scared,
Friends that we have so long known,
Yet some what apart we have grown,
But this weekend we will all meet,
With hugs and kisses we will greet,
About the past we reminisce,
And express how much we've missed,
The times that once shared,
Along with how through life we fared,
Even though through times and miles we've been apart,
None ever lost a place in each other heart,
Over the weekend we will be content,
Times like this for Friends were meant,
These times we will all hold dear,
Our Love for each other will be clear,
Maybe next time we will not wait,
So long for this friendship date,
We are all as close as the phone,
With friends like us no one is ever alone!

Simple theme expressed very well in rhyming couplets. I have found to my dismay on meeting old friends who were once close friends. That we have nothing whatsoever in common except rose tinted memories.
