Invisible Bruise

Invisible Bruise

A Poem by unclecharlie

To be a better person I thought I could,
Now I know that I am just no good,
I have changed my way of life,
But not enough to keep my wife,
For the hurt there's no excuse,
Pain still comes from verbal abuse,
If there's not a bruise that's dark,
Doesn't mean there's no mark,
Believe me it's no game,
It's all abuse just the same,
I know love can't be felt,
When abuse is what your dealt,
It doesn't feel that great,
When they threaten and intimidate,
It's never right to attack,
I wish it could all be taken back,
To apologize just isn't enough,
To wipe away all that stuff,
Your not to blame for closing the door,
I'll still love you forever more,
On me it's a strain,
But my senses I have gained,
Even though we say Goodbye,
I'll love you til I die,
In my heart you have a spot,
Bigger then anyone has ever got,
Your no doubt above the rest,
I wish you the very best!
