Long and Deep

Long and Deep

A Poem by unclecharlie

In the mirror I look long and deep,
All the character defects which ones do I keep,
I am honest and that's a big deal,
I won't lie nor will I steal,
At time at a loss of what to say,
The head games I refuse to play,
Not looking for a Mother or a Wife,
Just someone to share good moments in life,
Together we really don't need to live,
Not interested in the material things you have to give,
I don't want to feel like a trophy or prize,
I want us to talk and look into each others eyes,
Just wanting to enjoy the time that we share,
And to be missed when I am not there,
I want to hold you if you should cry,
Kiss and hug when we say Goodbye,
I Love you is way to often used,
So when to speak those words I carefully choose,
Nothing will happen in a day or two,
It takes longer then that to know the real you,
By the way your broken heart I can't mend,
To be better then anyone else I won't pretend,
I am who I am and can't be anything more,
What we have in common is we've both been hurt before,
Now I have got long winded and said to much,
But if you are interested at all please get in touch!
