Dark Side of the Moon

Dark Side of the Moon

A Poem by uncbaseballgirl
"

What we hide from society in our everyday lives. Secrets, alternate personalities, disorders. Basically, twisted thoughts inside yourself

"

Welcome to the sad side of the moon
The side no one ever sees
You have to understand
its complex

And full of diversity

There's nothing fantastic or special here

Only thoughts of darkness and broken dreams

Everyone is cursed with problems

And screwed up self-esteem

The dark side of the moon

The side no one ever sees

The land of Holocaust

The place of tortured fantasies

Once you come, you'll want to stay

It draws you in with mystic allure

It's a spreading disease

That at once, had a cure

The wrong side of the moon

The side no one ever sees

You've had your warning

From the Goddess Of banshee1

Dark and tragic we are here

Nothing is happy; nothing is right

Upside down and turned around

The side that's out of sight

The lost side of the moon

The side no one ever sees

It hides behind the normal side

With fake smiles and fake glee

1The Goddess of banshee: a female spirit from old Gaelic folklore that forewarns of death approaching.

I really loved reading this, very original take on comparing depression or loneliness to the "dark side of the moon". I also loved how it was tempting - and how, once you enter, you'll never want to leave. That's a different take on loneliness, I think, but a very original one! So, I hope I'm making sense! Great job!!! :D
