Pull

Pull

A Poem by KeelyJane

Pushing
toward uncertain
Manipulating directions
Up, down and all ways
Hallways and sections
random
emotion
unstable
affections
No answers
many questions
Pushing
Mental erection
Go with gut protection
Sixth senseless and stupid
My suggestion
Pull

There is a finesse to knowing when to push and when to pull. Growing up in a logging town, I used to compete in sawbuck competitions. It was a graceful and dangerous dance between my partner and I and the two man saw--tbe trick was to pull, then hold the tension as your partner pulled as the saw danced thru the log--teeth inches from upper thigh muscles...

I, at my age, like the idea of pulling for the mental erection, whether actual or or just in theory. Sometimes, it may require the use flashcards for effect! Nice mental image I have to blame you for, KJ!

"Sixth senseless and stupid" I like that idea, sometimes your gut is just wrong and you need to know more, before making a move. Or...go the other way. Cool write KJ.

Outside the box writing KeelyJane - pull when you are expected to push - a bit like poetic martial arts!

I see this as a mental wrestling match of decision and indecision; moreover, I see this as life being lived by emotion and common sense. Both are sometimes painful but purposeful and we need to know when to pull and when we need to push. What do you mean when you wrote "mental erection" and "gut protection"?

mental erection is kind of like keen awareness and gut protection refers to instinct.

I see the reflective in this one...always pushing when the intent is just to pull...in a small amount of words and yet gives much to the reader...
