See Me See You

See Me See You

A Poem by KeelyJane

I used to look at you and feel pretty
Your eyes would shine with the reflection of mine
and you would smile a smile that was as warm as your heart

In the twinkle of your gaze
Minutes would feel like days
If I could only count the ways you amazed me

You raised me
You lifted my spirits
to heights
no mountain came near it

Not the tallest tree
or the farthest star
could have reached as far as you sent me

Into the heavens
Beyond the oceans of visual emotions
and sight for sore eyed notions

That when you look at me you see love
you feel love
because real love is when love
has you in love with just one look

and that's what I used to see
that's what used to be
now the only part of me that feels pretty
is my memory

I'd love to see you again

i remember feeling this way about someone. just a glance from them and you felt totally loved, embraced from across the room. it is a difficult feeling to lose, because it becomes like a second nature in your life. and there is that old expression, you don't know what you 've got till it's gone...actually, we are very aware of what we have, but we learn to consider it the norm rather than a blessing...familiarity breeds contempt. awesome write, Keely

I felt the energy in this one. If I had to guess, I'd say you cried while you wrote this. The pain that comes through is almost virtual. Beautifully done.

Very nice KJ, I'm sure quite a few of us can relate to this exact feeling, but oh those memories are wonderful.

How sad it is when the love we once saw in another's eyes is gone. A lovers look mirrors what they see in us. When our reflection no longer exists its time to move on. Fantastic poem.

Memories of love are never as sweet as the love itself. We must be thankful for our memories, and even more grateful for the experiences in the first place - but we rarely are. Great poem, Keely.

This piece has a true universal quality about it...I'm sure just about everyone has a story of this nature to tell, but it takes a true poet to tell it with the vividness that you have here...a painfully beautiful piece...well done Keely :)

A lovely, loving but sad poem of love lost. flows well and pathos filled. One suggestion:
You raised me
You lifted my spirits
to heights
no mountain could eclipse
