What is True?

I know what I have to say speaks volumes

There is depth to my thought

I wish people understood the magnitude

of the empathy I've got

I think what I have to say matters

I believe it brushes on profound

I put truth into my words

and I spread that truth around

If I ever had something to say

its now more than ever

What I see I believe

what I think is just whatever

Whatever it is, it is

whatever it isn't, so be it

Call it what you want to

I'll call it like I see it

Understand I mean no disrespect

I only mean to keep it real

If ever I am wrong

I've only spoke of how I feel

What I see as the truth

is only truth to me

You may agree or disagree

Still, I only think for me

What is true and whats a lie

may never be truly known

Keep that in mind and you'll find

Truth is to each its own

What powerful poignancy in this piece. I always respect a writer who is willing to bare it all on the page; like me or don't like me, I'm going to say what I think, share what I feel. This is the true nature of art. We create for ourselves, and if we are able to touch people in the process, that is all the better.
