Between A Rock And My Mind Space

Between A Rock And My Mind Space

A Poem by KeelyJane

I'm in between a rock and my mind space
I'm sinking as I swim.
Sadly, the repercussions of struggling within
I can't turn back.
I can only move side to side.
There's no moving forward, all bullshit aside.
Can't go on pretending.
Can't go on believing.
Doesn't do any good to give what in turn I'm not receiving.
All the reasons in the world
won't make reason enough
If I don't come to terms with when enough's enough.
Where is my line between
my glitter and my gold
When can I stop listening and finally see what I am told.
Between my rock and my mind space
Within the confines of my chest
Lies, barely breathing
The reason at best.

"I'm in between a rock and my mind space"
Easy to be undecided and be locked in. I like the flow of the thoughts and the strong ending. Nice combination of words made the poem a pleasure to read. Thank you for the excellent poetry.

dear Keely Jane… as I wander through Life on a Path many have walked… I realize that we do our Best within limitations… giving Love and receiving the Peace that we had the Courage to contribute what we could… leaving a few footprints in the Sands of Time. gently, Pat

You deliver a message with the best of them, KJ! Very artfully written and delivered! Take a bow, join the audience and watch the rest of the show.

Amazing expression in rhythmic form KJ. Really well done, but I wouldn't give up hope just yet, nor would I stop trying to "to give what in turn I'm not receiving." lest you forget why you gave it for so long in the first place. *Hugs*

There's no moving forward, all bullshit aside.-- I like this line, because it's bright and honest.

Overall, this entire piece is like a little window into the experience of a person who knows that they need to go somewhere but isn't quite sure where that "where" is. I like the way that the speaker sort of "calls herself out" and says "...stop listening and finally see what I am told.". It's easy to listen (without really listening), but to actually see it is to accept that it is real and true. This is introspective...thought provoking.

Where is my line between
my glitter and my gold...

Our inner conflicts are often more difficult to navigate than the ones we have with others... This piece faces that struggle, ending with "Listen to your heart..." Nicely woven, Keely.

A most intriguing piece that resouns itself with the context of words, well done, good read.

Complex and profound. I like where you're going here with confronting unresolved issues and making sense of them within the psyche of the inner mind. Great job. :)
