A Daydream

A Daydream

A Poem by KeelyJane

Its like I’m in a daydream

I am focused with no train of thought

I try to make sense of my reality

I look from every point of view

I over analyze

It’s all so clear and all so hard to believe

A paradox

A fog with in a daydream

An unwanted blur

The enigma of my minds state of unrest

I am numb

Still I feel sadness and loss

I’m caught up in a memory

I compare you to the old you

You’re your own worst enemy

You’re always you

Just, at times, differently

Being here with you

As this epiphany breaks my heart

With the breeze blowing through the curtains

The candles dancing shadows on your face

Touching your hand while reaching for your heart

I think to myself

This moment would make the perfect memory

if it were raining

The conundrum of us plays through my mind

Over and over with grief

I make believe

The truth remains my disbelief

Save me from it

Love me again

Make me feel

When can I stop pretending?

Sometime all we have is memories and daydreams of hope. I like the desire to find some sort of peace. The strong description allowed the reader to feel the emotion in the words. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem.
