You Know Me

You Know Me

A Poem by KeelyJane

YOU KNOW ME INSIDE AND OUT, ALL MY DREAMS, ALL MY FEARS

YOU KNOW THE REASONS BEHIND MY SMILES, BEHIND MY FROWNS, BEHIND MY TEARS

YOU KNOW THE TRUTH TO MY STORIES, WHATS EXAGGERATED, WHATS A LIE

YOU KNOW EVERYTHING FROM WHO AND WHAT TO WHERE AND WHY

YOU KNOW MY WEAKNESS IS MY INSECURITY, MY SHAME AND MY PASSION

YOU KNOW I WANT TO LOOK AT YOU AND SEE THE ME I IMAGINE

YOU KNOW WHO I AM, WHO IVE BEEN AND WHO I COULD BE

YOU KNOW YOU ARE IMPORTANT WHEN IT COMES TO ME

YOU KNOW WHEN I'M FULL OF S**T BECAUSE I OFTEN LIE IN FRONT OF YOU

YOU KNOW I CANT SEE MYSELF FROM EVERY POINT OF VIEW

YOU KNOW THIS MADE SENSE WHEN I THOUGHT IT,  MAYBE NOT WHEN I JUST WROTE IT

YOU KNOW ITS HARD TO PAINT A PICTURE, TAKE A MOMENT AND RELOAD IT

YOU KNOW WHEN TO TELL THE TRUTH YOU ARE MY INNER OATH

YOU KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT, IF YOU DON'T THAT MAKES US BOTH

YOU KNOW YOU ARE MY WORST CRITIC, AT THE SAME TIME MY BIGGEST FAN

YOU KNOW IT IS WHAT IT IS, I AM WHO I AM, BUT MOSTLY I AM WHO I PLAN

YOU KNOW NO MATTER WHERE I GO, NO MATTER WHICH DIRECTION

YOU KNOW WHO I SEE IN THE MIRROR...YOU MY REFLECTION

The caps lock works here. This is a poem that hammers what it is saying, and the repetitious syntactic construction of each line underscores that as well. One thing I like about your writing, you have a sense of how to use rhythm well. That's an important skill to have, so cultivate your talent in that area.

Your gaze drives deep into the psyche; there in the heart and soul's speech. Yes, the soft skin hides so much beneath it. Would that such confessions could awaken us to remove those masks of madness. How your words sting.

I like the repetition of you know. You did a nice job with the rhyme and getting your point across about a reflection. Nicely done.

Feast on reflective meditation here.

You are my inner oath. Love that line...we can run but we can't hide from ourselves.

Love this, not crazy about the caps, that's just me....other than that, crazy good.
