some good advice mingled with some somber and sobering realizations. this is eloquent, yet sharp and jagged as well. i fear you and i have traveled some of the same paths. some go nowhere, others go to the wrong destination ...yet we have to keep up our travels, in spite of all we have encountered. clever write. "life is complicated..yet its rules are simple and few" how fooking confusing is that? well done.

I really like this poem, especially the line "experience is an understanding" its so true yet sad, too bad you cant shield others from making the same mistakes you did, which is something i try to do by being a super overprotective sister to my younger brother, but this poem really makes me think about letting go because it is true that you can only offer advice. This is one of my favorites from this site :)

Wow!! I've thought every line in this poem at some point in the past ten years. I agree with quinfinn this is somber in ways but so true. The last two lines should be everyone's credo!
