Chapter 2:  Travel Scope

 

 

 Rey waits outside of a place called The Expedition Office, it is a place where all Seekers go to travel out onto other places in the universe. Rey awaits for the arrival of someone as he sits down near a fountain.

 

 The laws of power in Walrira is separated between three categories. The first is mage power, the power to use any element, however, it takes a lot of training to master one element. The second is shaman power, shamans have the unique ability to summon dead soul or create souls. The last being wizard power, unlike mage, wizards have the ability to learn or create spells. Although these laws don’t apply to the rest of the universe, some beings have their own form of powers and the mage, shaman, and wizard power doesn’t apply to them. Rey ended up with the shaman power.

 

 As Rey waits, he sees multiple beings who go in and out of the office, many having the look of multiple adventures. However, Rey isn’t looking at them because of that, he looks at them knowing he is the only human in Walrira.

 

“What are you spacing out for?”

 

 The woman who speaks with Rey is one of the kids whom he grew up with named Sin, the same age as Rey. Sin is a female vampire, vampires can be told apart by their blue eyes. Sin is a mage, wearing a long black trench coat that reaches her feet, zipped up to her neck, all the way to her waist. Wearing a hood and bandana that covers half her face primarily because of her abilities.

 

 “Finally, I was waiting for such a long time.” Rey gets up.

 

“I know, the medic center took long to give me what I needed. I know you’re really looking forward to it.” Sin feeling bad for keeping him waiting.

 

“Of course I am, if there happens to be more human life out there, then I would like to find it.” Rey being very serious about it.

 

 It has been tough for Rey, knowing he was the only human who was alive from earth, after the invasion of the demons and Xyrons.

 

“I see, then we should get going.” Sin goes ahead.

 

 Upon entering, there are many workers attending seekers who await to sign themselves in. The way the Expedition Office works is they first go to a counter and either one or a group of 6 max, sign in to a private room. Inside the private room are special advanced telescopes called the Travel Scope, the seekers use this to scout out any galaxy and find a place to teleport to. It takes little time to arrive on a location, but when it comes to returning, it takes a little longer. Many have died exploring lands in which ended up being too much for them to handle or getting killed by the evil races. Although the main purpose of being a seeker is to explore, they are forced to write reports on their expedition on any encounters.

 

 Sin and Rey sign in and go to their room.

 

“Wow, so this is the telescope.” Rey takes a close look at it, expecting it to be bigger.

 

 Sin grabs a book with images of many recorded galaxies, planets, and other forms of lands.

 

“Can gas planets be explored?” Rey asks Sin as he looks in the telescope.

 

“They are, but we aren’t strong enough to handle the gravity, let alone being in raw space.” Sin explains.

 

“So I assume the master ranks are the only ones who can?” Rey asks.

 

“It all depends on what you trained, so any rank could travel.” Sin says.

 

 The ranks are mainly raised by the number of travels and encounters one has faced. Currently Sin and Rey are in bronze, the beginning rank. The rest goes up to silver, gold, diamond, and master. Most decide to retire on diamond and become protectors after experiencing certain cruel events in a travel.

 

“Well, it shouldn’t take us long to get stronger and learn how to be in lands with no oxygen.” Sin heads to the telescope.

 

 Both looking out in space to pick a galaxy.

 

“Some of these galaxies look scary to go to.” Rey seeing the strange shapes of certain galaxies like irregular, elliptical, and colliding galaxies.

 

“For now we should just go with a simple one.” Sin picks a regular looking galaxy.

 

“Alright, I’ll let you pick.” Rey waits for Sin.

 

 Looking through a solar system to find a planet with life, Sin manages to find one.

 

“Ready?” Sin asks Rey.

 

“Let’s go.” Rey being a bit excited.

 

 Locking on to the planet, they teleport onto their first expedition on a new planet.
