Chapter 4: The Justice of Space

 

 

 

 Moving along in the middle of space for over an hour, Alice has already finished cleaning the messy ship.

“Oh, you are quite good at cleaning.” Xio being impressed.

“What are you talking about, this isn’t even something that would be difficult.” Alice notices a small kitchen that is never used. “Let me guess, you don’t know how to cook either?” She asks.

“Does microwave count?” Xio asks.

 Alice doesn’t say anything about it and just has a disappointed look.

“That look hurts.” Xio says.

 Alice checks around the cabinets near the small kitchen.

“You know how to cook?” Xio asks.

“Yeah, you probably haven’t had anything decent to eat for a while so I will at least add a bonus and make you something.” Alice gathering ingredients that Xio stole but never touched.

“Wow, will you marry me?” Xio asks bluntly.

“If you say something stupid again I will not make you anything.” Alice warns Xio.

“Guess it’s a no.” Xio goes back to piloting.

 Minutes pass of nothing but silence until Alice finished cooking.

“Alright, come and eat.” Alice tells Xio.

 Xio sets the ship to auto-pilot. He walks at the table and sees a well-made looking meat.

“Are you a famous chef?” Xio asks.

“Of course not, this is just basic cooking. Something you clearly never bothered to learn.” Alice saying it harshly.

“Dam, I’m such a failure at life.” Xio says to himself. “So, you never really did tell me where you are going if you have a specific place or why you are a wanderer?” He asks.

“That is-“ Alice looks at Xio, wondering if she should even tell someone like him but doesn’t see why not. “I am looking for a demon.” She says.

“A demon? What’s that?” Xio being confused.

“Hu? You’re a wanderer and yet you don’t know about demons?” Alice being surprised.

“Well, I did become a wanderer in a hurry without knowing anything about the universe.” Xio explains.

 Alice decides to explain to Xio about the beings who bring justice among the universe. These beings are known as demons, they go all around the universe to bring order to any planet they come across with that is under chaos. Whether it is a planet that is invaded, war among its own people, or ordered to exterminate them. There are also beings known as angels, although similar, they are still different. The angels are at times sent to do work that demons do but they are mainly the ones who guard the home of God.

“Wow, are they strong?” Xio being curious about them.

“Of course they are, why would there be some kind of weak justice?” Alice asks Xio.

“Never mind.” Xio knowing it was a stupid question to ask. “So why are you looking for one?” He asks.

 Alice thinks about it for a second.

“I can’t tell you that.” Alice says.

 Although Xio is curious, he doesn’t bother insisting.

“So you don’t have an exact location as where to find one right?” Xio asks.

“Yeah.” Alice says.

“Good, because I wouldn’t even know how to specifically find a place.” Xio says like it is no big deal.

“Wait, you are just flying through space aimlessly?” Alice getting surprised.

“Well… yeah, I am a wanderer after all.” Xio taking the wanderer title too seriously.

“I can’t believe this.” Alice having being very disappointed on herself and Xio.

 Alice rides the ship herself, having a few locations written down on a paper. Xio feels like he is being taken care of by Alice but doesn’t get bothered since he doesn’t have to do anything.
