For Now

For Now

A Poem by Bridgett

I can live for now,

a little.

The tears have slowed,

as well as my heart,

for you.

Your touch still sends me

into a frenzy.

Your voice still awakens my soul,

but not like before.

I would love none other

than you,

all my days,

if the choice were mine.

I am still bleeding from this open wound,

but each breathe comes easier

and slowly,

so slowly,

I am learning to heal.

I cannot be fixed where

this hole in my heart lies.

I will always be broken,

a little,

but I can live,

for now.
