A Ray of Hope

A Ray of Hope

A Poem by Bridgett

My very soul is shattering into infinitely small pieces,
My heart has been ripped and torn until the essence of my life hangs in the balance.
I cannot breathe, I cannot scream,
I am drowning in this sorrow.
Pain seems to have found me again,
It laughs as I fall to my knees in agony.
But as I prepare to give up, to let go of this burden, I lift my head and look into the dark abyss in front of me.
There you are.
With the strength of a thousand men,
you lift me up into your loving arms and comfort me.
Hope fills my body,
The pain ceases,
My life returns.
You have saved me from the darkness,
Showing me the light.

Hmm,
you really had me going there in the beginning; so hopeless.
But then the poem took a turn, it lightened up (figures, hence the title)
This is well written, good flow.
