Mills Island (Lyrics)

Mills Island (Lyrics)

A Poem by John P. Eiler
"

I wrote a song about dreams ( Note: Mills Island is similar to "Sweet Dreams" translated into Irish (Isling Milis) which is how I got the name.)

"

Lay in bed at ten o’ clock

There’s a light that’s coming from the washroom.

I close my eyes, and I start to fall.

There’s a chance I may not be awake again at all.

Then I’m in a house, yet it isn’t mine

Though I really really think it’s gonna be all fine.

There’s  a girl right there, with a blank blank stare,

And this is what she said:

Chorus:

This is just a dream, so don’t get too carried away.

Yeah, it’s not what it seems, so just wake up and you’ll be fine.

Before I could pinch myself to be awake,

I appeared to be swimming in a crystal lake.

Then a nymph came up, and took me down,

Yet this is what she said:

Chorus

Then I woke back up with a happy face,

I just really really wish I could go back to that place.

So I got up from bed, and I scratched my head,

And this is what I said.

I am part Irish which is why the song name is based off of an Irish phrase.
