Concrete Ocean

Concrete Ocean

A Poem by John P. Eiler
"

Because it's summer, I decided I'd describe my summer break.

"
The summer air feels good,
as I ride down the street,
on my bike.
It tires my feet.

So I sit down,
enjoy the air.
I'm so lazy,
but I don't care.

Or I'll ride my wave-board,
through the parking lot,
Like a concrete ocean,
It relaxes me a lot.

I get back home,
I feel like I should.
These dog days of summer
feel oh, so good.

John P. Eiler
Concrete Ocean is not only a metaphor describing the parking lot but also describes the way wave-boarding feels, which feels like surfing.
