I love the rhythm and the soft musical effect produced by alliteration. I could just recite these lines forever. :) I like your choice of words "all you wish" and the repetition of "search" which perfectly portrays the futility of the search.

Have ceased to grace the ground.
This almost made me cry. It was so sad and yet so beautiful ..

Such sadness in this wonderful piece. Conjures images of noticing the silence where once there was comfort in sound. Silence can be deafening, but this form Is pure torture, the only sound heard is your sigh and the hollowness you feel from within.
A simple statement read, that leaves the reader pondering his own lack of footfalls. Beautifully captured.
