WHAT LIES IN THE BEAUTY?A Poem by UGOFor the Sickle Cell victims all over the world.
Born painlessly of a mother, a child;
So charming and witty; And resilient towards a future so mild; Who knows what lies in the beauty? Certainty, lost in a childhood; ‘cause in the blood the future lies; Therein symptoms that brood; Who knows what lies in the beauty? Who’s the author of her untold fate? Mother, father, maybe a blend of two; Clueless answers, wailing too late Who knows what lies in the beauty? She strives to attain the heights; Maintains the goals, so enviable; E’en in her dark plain, she bears the light; Who knows what lies in the beauty? Health falters, illness fades in; After a while, life progresses; On and off of a life so thin; Who knows what lies in the beauty? An epitome of her kind, battling; Fighting the enemy in the fluid; Some’re withering, some’re surviving; Who knows what lies in the beauty © 2015 UGO |
