Pain of A Poet

A poet cries out

My poems are unread and dismissed as soon as they see they have been written by me.
For what purpose have I been given me this gift if not to share it with the world.
But what if the world does not want it?
Am I the only one to read my poems?
Will my only readers be my eyes?

Author's Note

A lot of poets spend time and compose poems, but they never get read. Was it worth the stress?

Its not about the piece being read, its about the passion behind the piece. The question should be, was it worth it to you to write the poem? Did it help you with the other stressors in your life? The value of the piece is determined by the author.

i think that thius happens to everyone at some point in time. but i think it is worth the stress because at some point in time someone will read your poem, and they will end up loving it. but you are right thank you for sharing :)
