Elephant In the RoomA Poem by Ubie DropoutSometimes its all too necessary to state the obviousThese words are new Maybe not all that fresh or even the hippest most poetic sentiments that you have ever gazed upon But they are coming out right now In this never again happening This current living breathing moment Where if you decide to take a time out And take a breath You could then possibly gain the ability to realize Maybe just for this minute Everything will be alright by you Some things are just simply impossible to overlook Although at times it may seem necessary to pretend its not there The staring eyes are the true confession Pointing out that something so obvious is being ignored May be time to hire a new detective The old one is to blind to see Or at the very least Simply unable to speak of the true reality Now that all the windows have been opened The drama can be released The soap opera turned off And a different story can be told. © 2014 Ubie Dropout |
