Tried and Tears

Tried and Tears

A Poem by Lizzy

She was like a star to me,
this woman-she was like
the anchor of my reality.
If dusk knew dawn,
she would still be here.
As I seek with the sun
while the moon hides from me,
I yearn for lost life.
It's not in the air
or the bare wind as
I used to feel.
She was her life,
and these tears remain
in just her memory.
Several tries and daze
trying to capture light
from day-she is gone.
These words tried and true,
but my mind tries tears
Until I see her revived.

You masterfully tell a sad tale of a loved one. Such friendship remains a gift. She was well loved. Nice pen.

Than you! In loving memory of my grandma :)
I love the opening especially the line, if dusk new dawn. Great work, I loved it!!

Thanks for reading!
The rhyming and word choice is beautiful- short, sweet and poignant.
