Forgetful

Forgetful

A Poem by Douglas Lyle

"

For the sons that know their way
That want to
But can’t come out to play
The discerned path
     Lost troubles gone astray
And under the night’s
     Yellow moon
          They hide
     It pulls the tide
          Towards monsoon

And red lightning
     On the horizon
The songs cry in fear
     Of lost fathers
