The Dawn

The Dawn

Obsession has taken hold
     And the granaries are full
The black diamond demon beckons
Someone must return the shriek

The embers blow freely
     From the unmarked grave
Shouts and whispers
     Unconscious

The golden snake slithers
Unbound embryos gain strength
     Under the starless sky
A call is heard and the night
     Is aglow

The warm wind blows through
The night above the city lights
We are free and the earth
     Cannot contain us

Broken free are the leopards
Like banshee call
     The moon rises
The bright night is a dark day

The wind is still blowing
     As we shed skin
The snakes slither
     To the ocean's perimeter

Chaos bleeds and we are important
The beggars have become
     Kings in their cardboard countries
Nobody blinks yet everyone cries

Truly alive and down on one knee
We are free to do as we are told

Thinking like crystal scepters
Ghosts binge and dine upon
     The pure specters

Animals roaming across the fence
Un-caged with no fright

Enter the dawn
Now enter the enemy

Achieve grand insignificance

The dawn, my ally
The only friend I have
The first beam of light
     To cast the last shadow

The dawn, my friend

We part for the hunt
     As the tribe is healed
Beast's wild foaming mouths
     Cringe under first arrow
The final outpost is near

My friend,
     Dawn,
     Sunrise

We chase its illusion
     And hide from its fate

Dawn, the only friend I know

Let's camp by its wild side
Then sleep under its sisters

This is the end

Dawn is our end,
     Our friend
