Barrier

Barrier

A Poem by Douglas Lyle

"

Live for the flower
Sit in the lap
     Of your hero
Greased inside indelible
     Auditory hallucinations
Pragmatic glory

Forever ride heaven
It’s a language from inside
That lake splashing in the mind
Hurricane proxy

Painted summer of night
Vexed over spilled wine
Luxuries of the poor
Broken hearts abroad

The cancer crème
The broken morpheme
The lost foundations
The bound comedian

Cripple us
Carry us
Color us
Cremate us

Cored
