I Can't Say That

I Can't Say That

A Poem by tynamite
"

True say, this is how it is, in my life, when I have friends

"

I'm chilling outside with people.

There's 2 of them.

We are not friends.

But we find each other good friends.

Them girls find me a better friend,

than I find them, how? really?

I find my life worse,

than I find theirs.

We haven't spoken for weeks.

We know we missed each other.

You could call us friends,

though we're not proper friends.

We understand each other.

And we show each other that we care.

I've never once approached them.

And I'm not to speak to them in public.

This one time, we're outside.

And one says they'll go straight home later on.

Uh oh!

I can't be honest, and say so too.

I can't let them know that I'm not as popular as them.

I can't say that.

I can't let them know who I don't talk to.

I hope they see my friends giving me props.

One of them spoke of their problem once.

And I had to help, how I could.

I've got problems of my own.

But I can't let them know that.

They were once on my course.

But they got moved down.

We never spoke much, for time, after that.

When we did, we wished for the opposite.

They live a better life than me.

I'm paranoid that they know that.

They see me happy all the time.

Anything mundane, I can't say that.

It's unfair we'll never see other again, and that my life's the way it is.

But that's life, I'll just have to ride it.

Author's Note

About me having to show face, and how I have like to show that my life is as good or better as the people I speak to. It's good that I'm rated, and not one of those ones people don't like.

I can relate. But when you feel safe enough to be vulnerable with your friends, then you'll have a friendship with more intimacy. Usually when one person makes themselves vulnerable the other one will follow suit evenually. That's when you start developing a deeper and truer friendship.

Nice look at the process of relationships this poem. A unique subject. Thanks for sharing.

It is a good poem, I never really paid much attention to popularity, nor do I care for it, but most people do. As long as I have my small group that I can trust I do not care. Still it is good.
