Saving Grace

I swore to never fall again,

To never let someone have

The power to break me in half,

To never love again.

 

I thought I was through,

I thought I was done.

I was never going to go

Through the pain again.

 

You entered my life

And changed everything.

You saved me from emptiness,

You saved me from myself.

 

You showed me love,

You showed me truth.

You took away my pain

And gave me you.

 

You consumed my every thought

After crawling underneath my skin

And burrowing deep in my heart and soul.

Nothing I can ever do will dislodge you.

 

You saw me at my worst

And carried me through.

You became my everything.

You became my saving grace.
