Life & DeathA Poem by anonyMEty.celesteA simple poem illuminating straightforwardly the contrast between life and that of death.Life & Death
Think only of this, That the sun shines bright and the winds
blow strong. That at the far end of the world, In the rich earth, richer earth in it lay
concealed. That when one dies, shattered are the
memories; Gone is the warmth, And reassurance, A body hard as stone, left. Evil and sorrow deep in the bowels of the
earth, Left behind in a shadow sweep of night, Save for the lights at the end of the
hallway, In all hearts still lay peace. But what is peace without a loved one? What is peace when security is absent? Illuminated are the walls of destruction; Pain and suffering etched in the cracks of
plaster, Grains of sand on the shore, washed in a
glow of light. And think, a wind of which the sky bore,
shaped, made aware, That all is life and none of death, Where sorrow seeps away. © tyceleste © 2013 anonyMEty.celesteReviews
