Disconnect

Disconnect

A Poem by tybabb
"

None needed.

"

It's strange to feel so disconnected

Like society propels without me aboard

Each assigned a way to travel

My path is undefined yet not questioned

For I take the opposite

The world jumped a chapter ahead

My relationships are a distant ring

Night's full wake dawns upon me

I lay alone;

The wretched landscape of uncertainty vast before me

I'm my own intellect

My own personal and original thoughts

The race of life is not a pretty thing

I'm not faring well in last

Brainwaves of other's connect like puzzle pieces

While mine lays like a flat edge

I've never known a day where my family was my biggest stranger

Yet here I am;

Masked winds prevail

I picture myself in a new place unknown

Away from here to a new start

New life

People are new and unexplored

Uncertainty becomes my best friend

Brainwaves finally piece together

We can interact

I'm satisfied

I wrote this on a night I was mad; admittedly I'm not even sure that it makes sense. Each line, if it feels different, is probably because my mood swung from one end to another.

As the world and experiences grow and flourish everything once familiar falls into perspective.
THis is why uncertainty can be a friend if it opens up doors to newness and the discovery of what was before unknown. It's a fantastic journey, life is... as your poem suggests.
