Under this prairie skyA Poem by arnoltIn honor of my favorite spot on earthThe coyotes sing aloud at dawn, the cool air perfectly still A whitetail grazes with her fawn, and wander this prairie until The sun has set and stars come out like a thousand little lights The moon above illuminates this peaceful Alberta night It won’t be long til dusk arrives and glows red in the east The farmers seed and pasture cows so that the world can feast There is no place I’d rather be than under this prairie sky And raise my family up on that soil until the day I die © 2018 arnolt |
