The Glossy Lies

The Glossy Lies

A Poem by James K. Blaylock

The Glossy Lies

flipping through the pages

of all these glossy lies,

and thinking no one could

ever live up to this falseness...

not even if they truly tried

I really liked how you made the lies seem like a chapter in a book titled "My Life". (at least that's what the imagery was like to me) I think that if you added some lines about events in your life that you remembered and influenced this piece of art, then it could easily be transformed into a heartfelt song as well. You really gave your heart and soul to your writings- and even if they're shorter than most, they are not lacking anything at all. Good job.

Relatively short, yes, but it's got quite a rhyme, a rhythm going on, and a good scheme.
"Glossy lies" that most certainly caught my attention.
