The Ashes of Tomorrow

The Ashes of Tomorrow

A Poem by James K. Blaylock

The Ashes of Tomorrow

breathing in deeply

the ashes of tomorrow,

and choking heartily as

I walk dazed constantly...

why does the horizon seem so

permanent when it's truly falling

There is a lot of deeply imbedded angst within this one. Love the imagery here. Love the title and the last stanza's message. For a short piece, it holds much upon its Atlasian shoulders. Yea, I don't think "Atlasian" is a word, but I used it anyway 'cause it fits. Well done.
