Knowledge of Reality

Knowledge of Reality

A Poem by James K. Blaylock

Knowledge of Reality

this birth of flesh

taking that first step,

and going out into the world,

gaining anything meaningful

now, breathe in the dust,

for it's a part of us all...

because sooner or later, we'll surely,

be embracing some thoughtful mortality,

lest we fall into the dirt without

any known knowledge of reality

So true. In between birth and death is the time we have to get to know and learn everything around us. Some things are cruel---something displeasing to the senses. But that just defines reality. The important part is there are other things which are sensible and beautiful. A great read.
