Mourning Coffee

Mourning Coffee

A Poem by James K. Blaylock

Mourning Coffee

sipping this

mourning coffee,

and trying hard,

to come to grips...

with all the murder, you'd

forgetfully commit, whilst

out at night

blind-fool-driving

I like the play on words - mourning in the morning with your cup of coffee....drunken driving and the selfishness of it. Great poem!

Mourning coffee, that is simply an ingenious twist, liked that play on the words, keep it up.

Sounds like a drunk driver killed someone to me. Well that's what I read out of this. Good job .Thank you for sharing. debileah

sipping this
mourning coffee,

first time i've seen
grieving represented in such a way
Thats creative.. to ponder the death
of someone close due to another's
greedful mistake.. like drunk driving
I'm sure this writing will hit home
with many.
