Love Remains (Placed Bets)

Love Remains (Placed Bets)

A Poem by James K. Blaylock

Love Remains (Placed Bets)

walking down, both hand in hand
she and he, did but understand

this weren't deep love, just yet
but both had hopes, and placed their bets

the hill was huge and over-grown
though they walked with joy, for it led 'em home

and tomorrow, welcomed each new day
holding one another, tightly now under sun's rays

i can say firstly i enjoyed the form, the rhymes had an effect all their own, which painted the image upon the reader's mind, a touching vision of true love, to strive for perfection in relationship, your words speak
to the reader's heart, also, i felt the entire vision to be blissful, and creates a feeling representing
the desire to succeed, the meaning speaks metaphorically, the hill being obstacle to overcome, and once
its been accomplished the main goal would be to preserve whats been created, this is beautiful, touching
