Dire Consequences

Dire Consequences

A Poem by James K. Blaylock

Dire Consequences

take the bite,

it is merely some

tame fruit...

with dire consequences

Another great thought to ponder. You know I have always wondered where and when the apple came into play as being the forbidden fruit. If it were an apple that was the forbidden fruit would we be allowed to eat it freely now? Just my mind messing with me again. Sometimes a thought gets stuck in my brain and drives me crazy trying to find an answer to something that has no answer.

I counted in my head at first glance the number of words and made a quick judgment call on the impact based on the poem size... not unlike Goliath did with David.

I've got to admit, the impact of the piece far exceeded the word count.

This is good, good stuff. For lack of a better term, I'll call it a "Sermon in a Box".

Oh, the consequences. How something so enticing can be so dangerous. You convey this well here.

If only Eve had known of the consequences, how would life had been?

Good write as always!

the fruit or regret surely and you've captured the bewitching meaning in perfect light of wording,
"dire consequences", passionate, the imagery maintains consistant flow, and delivers the emotional
impact which hits the reader with sudden force, as reflected by the minimal amount of well
chosen wording, as well the entire metaphorical concept is written to draw the mind to ponder,
very nice work, such creativeness grabs hold of one's thoughts and imagination and doesnt let go.

I'm really finding this one appetizing. What a powerful message. You break things down into perspective here. Exceptional writing!

More food for thought. You always make me think. So few words and yet you say so much. Good work my friend.
